Hope grinned up at the sun as she sat in the plush green grass in the middle of the park. It felt amazing to be able to go somewhere alone without any supervision. Sure, Klaus and Elijah were probably somewhere nearby but at least they weren't watching her.
She looked down at the grass as she ran her toes and her fingers through the grass, enjoying the feel.

Alaric was taking a walk through the park, something he did often in between grading papers and homework. He looked up at the sky, which was beautiful. The weather was perfect that day. He smiled.

Alaric continued his walk, saying hello to students and people as they walked by. He stopped for minute to take a drink from his water bottle, and looked around, seeing a girl sitting in the grass not too far away.

Hope let a lady bug crawled along her finger, smiling as it flew away at the last second. She glanced around and smiled seeing a man looking at her. She blushed and looked to the ground again.

Hope smiled, enjoying the feel of butterflies fluttering about against the walls of her stomach. She gave a wave back and smiled at him. Was he really showing her interest?

Alaric was debating whether or not to go over to talk to her. He didn't think she looked too young for him to talk to. He walked over to her.

Hope smiled "Alaric. That's a mouthful" she giggled "can I just call you ric?" She asked and patted the grass next to her, gesturing he could sit.

Alaric shrugged. "Well, you were just sitting here, alone. And I don't think I've seen you around town before, so I thought I'd introduce myself." He said, somewhat rambling.
